Eaton’s modular integrated transportable substation (MITS) is an ultra-flexible modular substation solution designed to your specific needs. The prefab substation is assembled on a self-supporting transformer skid or trailer, creating an easily transportable design that can be quickly energised. Factory-assembled, wired and tested, the turnkey power substation reduces costs, time, space and labour.

From equipment modernisation/upgrade to complete design, construction and commissioning of a new substation, Eaton’s turnkey power system team has the expertise and resources to design and manage your entire project from start to finish. Achieve a safer, more reliable and cost-efficient power system and the convenience of a single point of contact to reduce risk, schedule and budget.
The flexibility of Eaton’s modular integrated transportable substation makes it ideal for a wide variety of industries, including industrial and mining sites, commercial and distributed facilities and utility applications. The following testimonials provide a brief snapshot into the range of application for a MITS.
Problem: poor voltage regulation was causing significant equipment problems at a wastewater treatment facility.
Solution: the facility deployed a voltage regulation MITS in an aesthetically pleasing design. The solution provided a single-point contact for project management, plug-and-play installation and on-board fluid containment.
Results: the Eaton MITS resolved the voltage regulation issues at the facility, significantly improving reliability and resulting in fewer equipment issues.
Problem: fuelled by the need to respond and react to potential emergency situations, the customer required a dedicated mobile solution capable of transforming voltage.
Solution: an Eaton mobile MITS provided the ideal solution for this application. Used in conjunction with a mobile genset, voltage is generated at 480V and stepped up to a voltage of either 4160Y/2400 or 2400V delta to supply power on an emergency basis.
Results: completely mobile, the Eaton MITS improved reaction time in emergency situations while affording the customer an integrated connection interface and simple design.
Problem: a mining industry customer required a substation that could be configured to supply electrical loads at sites where ground water embedded with natural gas is extracted.
Solution: the Eaton MITS provided a different way of building substations for the mining industry. Using a skid-based platform, the modular substation is designed to be relocated to a new site after its service is completed at another.
Results: the ability to move the entire substation without complete disassembly provides the customer with substantial benefits over conventional substation installations, including 50 % savings on future relocation costs, 15 % savings in initial design, 25 % savings in space and an increased cash flow due to a quickly commissioned substation.
