Conduit outlet bodies, also known as Condulet™ are installed by threading to Rigid or Intermediate conduit in raceway systems. They act as pull-outlets for conductors being installed and provide openings for making splices and taps in conductors. They connect conduit sections, bends and provide taps for branch conduit runs. Condulet™ also provide for access to conductors for maintenance and future system updates.
The Crouse-Hinds company was founded in 1897 in Syracuse, NY, when homes and businesses were illuminated by gas lantern systems.
When electric service became more prevalent, gas for lighting fell out of favor and it was determined that the abandoned gas piping could be used as suitable conduit to run wiring. That's why conduit is basically the same size as gas pipe schedule 40.
Over time, industrial fittings became more and more specialized to wire industrial plants and other areas that require protection for conductors.
Eaton Crouse-Hinds offers one of the broadest ranges of industrial fittings on the market today. The Crouse-Hinds series fittings help move power where you need it for simplicity and safely in electrical installations. The fittings offering includes conduit bodies, cast outlet boxes, cast device boxes, sealing fittings, sealing compounds, breathers & drains, elbows & couplings, and unions and reducers.

Condulet™ are available in a variety of shapes and materials. All Condulet™ accommodate removable covers.
For industrial applications, Form 7, Form 8 or Mark 9 fittings are used. Moguls are larger versions of these same body styles and are used to provide extra conductor carrying capacity.
Form 7 fittings are the most popular and are offered in 11 different shapes and the 10 most common trade sizes.
Form 7 utilizes the wedge nut cover design which facilitates installation and removal as the nuts are held captive in cover. Covers can be used with or without gaskets. SNAPTIGHT Form 7 covers with integral sealing gaskets are also available and are installed without the use of screws, reducing installation time and costs. Form 7 condulets are available in Feraloy iron alloy with a standard electrogalvanized coating with a durable coat of corrosion reducing aluminum acrylic paint. They are also available in optional copper-free aluminum castings.
Form 8 fittings provide more interior volume than Form 7 and are available in Feraloy iron alloy. Covers are fastened with screws to provide secure cover and gasket assembly.
Mark 9 Condulets are cast in copper-free aluminum with a natural finish. Optional coatings include the Corro-free epoxy powder coat.
