Eaton’s VR-Series+ vacuum circuit breakers deliver superior electrical and mechanical performance over the original breaker, providing reliable control, protection, performance, and ease of handling and maintenance. Ideal for switchgear modernization and upgrades, the VR-Series+ requires little to no modifications to the original switchgear cell and is interchangeable between different cubicles of the same rating.

Superior lubrication

Because the modern synthetic molybdenum disulfide lubrication is non-hardening and creates a protective layer between the wearing surfaces of the mechanism, the VR Series+ circuit breaker element only requires re-lubrication once every 10 years or 10,000 operations.

Resolve parts availability issues

VR-Series+ control components are compatible with Eaton's original VR-Series and VCP-W circuit breakers and are maintained in stock, reducing customer’s on hand inventory.

Increased interrupting capability

VR-Series+ circuit breakers, along with the appropriate bus bracing upgrades, increase existing switchgear's short circuit capabilities in the same space as the originals, with minimal downtime.

Sure-Close MOC Technology

Eaton’s Sure-Close technology for vacuum replacement circuit breakers with de-coupled stored energy is guaranteed not to stall the circuit breaker during closing and prevents damage to the existing cell MOC components.

Remote power racking system (RPR-2.1)

Eaton’s RPR-2.1 enables remote racking of many manufacturers' low- and medium-voltage circuit breakers that can be inserted or removed using the rotation of a shaft. Operators may remain 25 feet or more away from the switchgear door during the racking process, which is outside of the arc flash protection boundary.
